JOB SUMMARY

This position will have direct oversight and coordination of assigned plumbing projects by assisting the project manager with the overall management and execution of safety, quality, and efficiency requirements of each project.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in managing plumbing projects for industrial, pharmaceutical, and heavy commercial industries

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Strong understanding of NC Plumbing Codes and industry standards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with to collaborate with teams
• Detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage projects in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of plumbing systems, materials, and industrial standards
• Ability to run and become certified in the operation of heavy machinery including backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, and excavation equipment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Direct oversight and coordination of assigned plumbing projects by assisting the project manager with the overall management and execution of safety, quality, and efficiency requirements of each project.
• Initial mobilization of new projects and demobilization of completed projects.
• Field procurement of materials as needed to conform to project specifications.
• Managing rental equipment needs for piping projects
• Responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems that carry various fluids including water, waste, chemicals, or gases in industrial settings. Systems include piping, valves, fittings, fixtures, and equipment.
• Layout, assemble, install, and maintain underground and above-ground pipe systems, pipe supports, and related equipment.
• Use various tools and equipment, such as pipe cutters, threading machines, compression tools, press tools, and bending tools to join pipes by means of brazing, soldering, cementing, gluing, compression, press, or threading.
• Install and connect a range of plumbing fixtures including but not limited to sinks, toilets, and water heaters.
• Diagnosing and repairing faults in piping systems, including leaks, blockages, or pressure issues.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to plan the layout of plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards.
• Test plumbing piping systems for leaks using methods like 10' head test, hydrostatic testing, or air pressure tests.
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and industry codes.
• Daily management of assigned plumbing staff.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to field teams assigned to you.
• Lead and instruct plumbing helpers, mechanics, and fitters under your supervision.
• Coordinate with Plumbing Coordinator weekly to discuss and plan manpower, tool, and equipment needs necessary to meet project schedules and requirements.
• Quality control walk downs and safety audits of piping projects.
• Maintain all as-build project records and test record documents to ensure relevant information is documented and secured.
• Punchlist management on piping projects
• Work in BIM models provided by SE&M BIM Manager
• Work in PlanGrid project management document manager.
• Complete/Audit timecards for each project
• Complete daily reports
• Develop positive business relationships while ensuring contractual compliance with all parties.
• Resolve client concerns.
• Help develop and maintain working relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Monitor and enforce current regulatory standards and company safety guidelines.
• Attend jobsite weekly meeting when required.
• Work as a team with other SE&M departments (Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical, and Service) and company divisions.
• Drive and be personally responsible for a Company vehicle that may have SE&M employees as passengers and job-related cargo/trailers.
