PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Job Description As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will perform diagnostic Nuclear Medicine exams on patients using specialized equipment. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results. The ideal candidate will have strong imaging knowledge, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Shift Details PRN, variable shifts Monday–Friday 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM On‑call shifts required evenings and weekends Ability to float between Riverton and Alta View hospitals Location Intermountain Health Riverton Hospital (may also cover shifts at Alta View Hospital) Minimum Qualifications Current license in state of practice Clinical board certification (ARRT or NMTCB) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification IV certification Preferred Qualifications At least one year clinical Nuclear Medicine experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution What You’ll Do Perform nuclear medicine exams per department protocols Prepare patients, verify orders, and ensure proper identification Review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy Follow all radiation safety standards and regulatory requirements (NRC, state) Administer radiopharmaceuticals and monitor for reactions Maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with regulatory standards Provide patient education and ensure patient comfort Support team workflow and assist with training as needed Float between Riverton and Alta View sites as needed Physical Requirements Need to read information, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies Communicate verbally and understand spoken information, especially during emergencies Manual dexterity to manipulate complex, delicate equipment; frequent computer use and typing Expected to lift and use full range of movement to transfer patients; may lift items up to heavy weights Need to walk and assist with transporting patients and supplies; push/pull gurneys and portable equipment May stand for extended periods Compensation Hourly rate: $39.16 – $60.42 (actual rate depends on experience).
