The Department of Anesthesiology at the Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a board eligible/board certified Anesthesiologist, Internist, or Family Medicine physician to join our Emory University team and serve as Chief of Perioperative Medicine .

In partnership with departmental leadership, this position is responsible for the planning, oversight and performance of clinical operations within the Department of Anesthesiology Preoperative Clinics (APCs). Job duties include direction of activities that will enhance operational efficiencies, improve patient satisfaction, and result in high-quality, cost-effective health care service to all patients of the APC through the management of human and financial resources. Additionally, this role will assess needs, formulate plans, and implement staff development and training programs as appropriate for professional development of the APC team.

Time Allocation: The Chief of Perioperative Medicine will receive 20% non-clinical time to fulfill the requirements of the post at the discretion of the Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology. The Chief of Perioperative Medicine will spend at least one day per week, averaged over each month, at both the Emory University Hospital APC and the Emory University Hospital Midtown APC.

Candidate Qualifications:

• ≥ 7 years of experience working in a perioperative clinic and ≥ 3 years of leadership in perioperative clinics/perioperative medicine.

• M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent.

• Eligible to apply for a medical license in the state of Georgia.

• Board certified/eligible/board eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology, American Board of Internal Medicine, or the American Board of Family Medicine.
