What You Will Do In This Role Operate specialized radiographic and invasive procedure equipment. Understand needs and identify needed supplies appropriately for invasive procedures; ensure supplies are available. Employ radiation protection devices and techniques as required. Independently assist physician as scrub person and operate fluoroscopic/specialized equipment safely. Practice sterile technique. Orient new employees regarding special procedure technologist duties. Participate in departmental performance improvement activities. Fulfill assigned on‑call obligations. What Qualifications You Will Need ARRT and Radiology Technologist – Texas Department of Health or RCIS. RCIS staff members who do not hold an ARRT certification: Must be under the direct supervision of a licensed practitioner credentialed for invasive procedures (e.g., Cardiologist, Radiologist, or Vascular Surgeon). Must comply with all applicable state laws, rules, and regulations governing the performance of radiologic procedures. Current BCLS certification required. Demonstrated current clinical competence, as outlined in the appropriate orientation checklist. Maintains competency on a consistent basis (i.e., annual skills checklist). Complete EKG test or take EKG course. ACLS certification within 6 months of employment. Thorough technical knowledge. Able to deal with stressful situations and to stand for long periods of time.
