Hours: Full Time - 37.5 hours - Variable Shift Pattern Creating and maintaining great places to live and work delivered by excellent people who care… Purpose of Role We are looking for a reliable and hands‑on Caretaker to join our facilities team at Newfield & Talbot School supporting a unique school campus comprising both a mainstream school and an SEN school. This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll play a key part in maintaining a safe, secure, and well‑functioning environment for students, staff, and visitors. Job Description This is an important role supporting the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the school, helping to maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role operates on a rotating shift pattern: Shift 1: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm Shift 2: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Shift 3: 11:00 am – 7:00 pm Flexibility is essential to cover all shifts as required. Responsibilities Opening and closing the school site, ensuring buildings are secure Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks Monitoring and maintaining site safety and cleanliness Supporting contractors and overseeing site access where required Conducting routine inspections of facilities and reporting issues Assisting with room setups and site preparation for school activities and events Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures Essential Qualifications/Skills Experience in caretaking, maintenance, or facilities management (preferred) Practical DIY skills and the ability to carry out minor repairs Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently A proactive and flexible approach to work Strong awareness of health and safety practices Good communication and teamwork skills Benefits In return for your hard work we offer additional training and development, 26 days holiday (+ bank holidays), generous pension contribution, life assurance and much more. #J-18808-Ljbffr
