# Job Opportunity – Cardiac Telemetry Nurse – North Carolina Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 13-26 week assignment available Highlights: - Cardiac telemetry stepdown unit with 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratios (varies by acuity)- Comprehensive cardiac patient population including post-procedural care for CABG, TAVR, LAAO, electrophysiology, and catheterization procedures- Epic EMR with 24-hour paid orientation period- Weekend requirement: 4 shifts per 4-week period with flexible scheduling- Float required at unit discretion within facility- Supportive interdisciplinary team including Rapid Response, Pharmacy, Respiratory Services, and Physical Therapy Requirements: - Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license- Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac telemetry or stepdown experience required- Travel nursing experience required unless candidate has more than 24 months of cardiac experience- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required- Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to start date- Proficiency in cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management, sheath removal, cardiac drip management and titration- Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/Pleuravac), non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BIPAP), and femoral sheath management- Competency with specialized equipment including Doppler, bladder scanner, EKG, TR band, and Fem-stop devices- Epic charting system experience preferred- Arterial line management, wound care/wound vac experience, and charge experience preferred Patient Population: This specialized cardiac unit cares for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions including atrial fibrillation, CHF, acute coronary syndrome, CAD, valvular disorders, endocarditis, cardiomyopathy, and peripheral vascular disease. Nurses provide post-operative care for cardiac and thoracic surgical patients following procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, mitral clip, carotid endarterectomy, and various vascular surgeries.
