Position Overview

We are partnering with a leading outpatient healthcare organization in Palm Beach County seeking an experienced Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse (RN) to provide coverage during a key team member’s maternity leave. This 6-month contract opportunity offers the potential for extension or long-term placement for a strong performer.
The Ambulatory Care Nurse will play a critical role in maintaining clinic operations, supporting patient care coordination, and ensuring continuity of care across multiple outpatient locations. With a small nursing team currently in place, this position is essential to sustaining patient flow, procedural support, and quality patient outcomes without overburdening existing staff.
This role is ideal for a seasoned ambulatory, outpatient, or procedural nurse who enjoys patient interaction, autonomy, and a structured weekday schedule.

The Palm Beach ambulatory care network is seeking temporary nursing support during a maternity leave absence. The clinic currently operates with two full-time nurses and one per diem nurse, making additional coverage critical to maintaining daily operations, supporting pain management procedures, and ensuring patients continue to receive high-quality care throughout their treatment journey.
Schedule

Full-Time
Monday–Friday
9-hour shifts
Start times between 7:15 AM and 7:45 AM
No weekends
No on-call requirements
Approximately 14 patients per day
Pain management procedure days occur weekly
Procedures scheduled every 30 minutes beginning at 8:00 AM

West Palm Beach, FL
Delray Beach, FL
Boca Raton, FL
Key Responsibilities

Perform pre-operative and post-operative patient calls to ensure safe preparation and recovery
Conduct patient assessments, obtain vital signs, and document findings in the EMR
Support weekly pain management procedure days by assisting providers and monitoring patient safety
Administer medications, vaccinations, IV therapy, oxygen therapy, and wound care
Perform phone and in-person patient triage for clinical concerns
Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatments and procedures
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and post-procedure care
Coordinate follow-up care and assist with managing clinical messages and patient inquiries
Support quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation
Qualifications

Required

Active Florida RN License
Current BLS Certification
Minimum 1 year of RN experience
Previous ambulatory care, outpatient clinic, procedural, or physician practice experience
Strong patient assessment and clinical documentation skills
Ability to work independently with minimal training
Preferred

ACLS Certification
Epic EMR experience
Pain management, procedural nursing, or surgical outpatient experience
Strong care coordination and patient education background
Ideal Candidate

Experienced ambulatory or outpatient RN
Comfortable supporting procedural clinics and pain management services
Able to quickly adapt and contribute with minimal onboarding
Strong communicator with excellent patient-facing skills
Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple clinic locations
