STATUS: Full timeLOCATION: Newark-Wayne Community Hospital - 1200 Driving Park AvenueNewark, NY 14513DEPARTMENT: RadiologySCHEDULE: Variable - 7:30 am - 6pm Weekdays (Tue, Thur, Fri); & Saturday.On-call: Mon-Fri 4 pm - 12 am 1x a month; Sunday 7 am -12 pm- 1x a monthSUMMARYPerforms and assists radiologists in performing radiographic procedures, obtaining films of good diagnostic quality while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients undergoing these procedures.ATTRIBUTESExcellent patient service skillsCritical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervisionExceptional documentation/computer skills and professional behaviorRESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for radiography of patients in all assigned areas.Maintains accountability for timely and proper service to patients during unsupervised shifts.Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures utilizing the RIS/PACS and inpatient charts as necessary.Cleans, restocks, and prepares rooms on a daily basis.Attends hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.Practices and is held accountable for excellent customer service behaviors.Provide on-call coverage for the Diagnostic Section of Radiology.Performs other duties as assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 2 years college certificate or equivalent.NYS license in Radiologic Technology required, or must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire.If licensed after 2007, must obtain the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT) within 1 year of hirePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSRadiologic Technologist experience preferredBLS Certification preferred.EDUCATION:LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation.
