Job Summary:

Caterpillar's Electric Power Division has an open opportunity as a Sales Engineer. The Sales Engineer will support go-to-market initiatives, and sales execution as a subject matter expert of assigned products and services.

What you will do:

• Support territory managers in day-to-day business on technical product information.
• Answering technical questions.
• Review technical specifications from bid documents.
• Product expert to answer questions on applications, features, and genset operations.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) at critical customer visits.
• Providing product application expertise at point of sale, or by delivering various types of product training including applied technology, job efficiency, and safety to customers, company and dealers' sales personnel.

• Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
• Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
• Products and Services: Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.
• Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
• Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
• Value Selling: Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

• Electrical/Mechanical Engineering degree is required but Electrical Engineering Degree is preferred along with experience in generator design, applications, field service, or customer support.

Additional Information:

• This position is located in Irving, TX; Seguin, TX; Houston, TX; Lafayette, IN; Griffin, GA; Alpharetta, GA; Peoria, IL; or Mossville, IL.
• Travel up to 25% is required.
• Domestic relocation assistance is not offered for this position.
• Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.
• This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.

Summary Pay Range: $97,530.00 - $146,290.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
