JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Pediatric General Surgery Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Richmond, VA Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: Jun 11 – Jul 10, 2026 Shift Schedule: Mon – Fri, 8a – 5p (Clinic) Call Schedule: Nights: Mon – Fri, 8p – 8a Weekends: 24-hrs, Sat – Sun Call Type: Beeper Call Ratio: 1:1 Call Response Time: 30 mins PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: 100% Pediatric (Newborns – Teenagers) Average Daily Volume: 0-4 patients/day Phone Consults: 0-2 calls per day 8-10 emergent surgeries per year Admissions: Yes Rounding: Included Phone Consults: Yes Case Mix: Pediatric General Surgery (Elective & Emergent) FACILITY INFORMATION Support Staff Available: Yes; Office DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with pediatric providers to evaluate and determine surgical necessity. Manage and perform preoperative, operative, and postoperative surgical care. Provide full-time clinic coverage Monday – Friday, 8a – 5p. Cover night call from 8p – 8a Monday – Friday, and 24-hour call on weekends. Round on admitted patients and perform weekend surgical consults as needed. #J-18808-Ljbffr
