Position Overview

This position requires a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in nursing. Holiday coverage is also required.

Certifications and Requirements

• General Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Nursing Certifications:
  • AWHONN Intermediate EFM Certification (required within six months of hire)
  • AWHONN Advanced EFM Certification (required within six months of hire)
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) NIH Stroke Scale (required within six months of hire)
  • STABLE Certification (required within one year of hire)
  • Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) certification (required within one year of hire)

Qualifications

Candidates must possess a valid and unrestricted Professional Nursing License to practice in any state of the United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory. A minimum of 2 years of OB nursing experience is required, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, nursery, and Labor and Delivery.

Job Responsibilities

The Obstetric Clinical Nurse will perform a variety of nursing care procedures that require professional knowledge and consideration of specific patient conditions and treatments. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting physicians and midwives during examinations and medical procedures.
• Providing comprehensive, family-centered nursing care to mothers and newborns during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods.
• Following established guidelines, physician orders, and nursing policies to ensure quality patient care.
• Supporting individuals of all ages and their families throughout the care process.

Work Environment

The position is located in a semi-desert region, known for its diversity and cultural richness. The work environment includes a range of services provided to the community, such as comprehensive inpatient and outpatient emergency services, surgical procedures, and various medical specialties.

Additional Information

Fingerprinting must be completed and cleared prior to the start date. Please note that hospital rental properties are very limited and shared contractor housing is available, with restrictions on pets or family presence per hospital policy.
