Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
An ICU nurse provides advanced, around-the-clock care for critically ill and unstable patients, managing complex medical equipment, medications, and assessments. The role requires strict adherence to attendance policies and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Manage life-support equipment such as ventilators, titrate intravenous drips, and interpret vital signs.
• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe patient assessments and administer medications precisely.
• Collaborate with medical teams to develop and execute advanced patient care plans.
• Maintain compliance with infection control and safety protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Document patient progress, interventions, and assessments accurately in the EMR system.
• Adhere to facility policies, including punctuality and attendance requirements, with consideration for extenuating circumstances.

Qualifications:

• Possess at least 1 year of ICU experience, excluding floating assignments.
• Hold a current Michigan RN license; provide verification via LARA and Nursys.
• Demonstrate proficiency in EKG interpretation and vent management.
• Be willing to float to similar units such as Neuro, CVICU, or Trauma.
• Complete a skills checklist within the past year aligning with ICU responsibilities.
• Possess ACLS and BLS certifications.
