Systems Engineer

Position Overview Systems Engineer (Lead) to join our team at Kirtland Air Force Base. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading systems engineering efforts, with a strong background in SEAMS and working within Air Force Base (AFB) environments. This role requires a proactive leader who can manage complex systems engineering projects, coordinate cross‑functional teams, and ensure successful delivery of mission‑critical systems. Location: Kirtland AFB, NM, 87417 Key Responsibilities Lead and manage systems engineering activities throughout the system lifecycle, from concept development through deployment and sustainment. Apply SEAMS (Systems Engineering and Management System) methodologies to ensure compliance with Air Force standards and best practices. Coordinate with stakeholders at Kirtland AFB and other Air Force entities to define system requirements and ensure alignment with mission objectives. Develop and maintain system architectures, interface control documents, and technical data packages. Oversee risk management, verification and validation, and configuration management processes. Mentor and guide junior systems engineers and technical staff. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for leadership and external customers. Required Skills and Qualifications Proven experience as a Systems Engineer Lead, preferably within a military or Air Force Base environment. Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience with SEAMS methodologies and tools. Familiarity with Air Force Base operations, standards, and security requirements. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross‑functional teams effectively. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Advanced degree preferred. Active security clearance or ability to obtain one is required.
