Production Lead - 3rd Shift

LeadLocation: 910 Back Road, Berwick, Pennsylvania 18603Work Shift: 8hr-3rd Shift (Sun - Thurs 11:30 pm - 8:00 am)The Lead provides direction and support to the shift team. Drives compliance with standard operating procedures and policies, such as Safety, Quality, GMP, and CPS. May be assigned to one or more of following functions: Production, Maintenance, Warehouse and Quality.Roles and Responsibilities:Champions a safety culture, ensures a safe work environment, and promotes safe behaviorMonitors environment and becomes aware of conditions that may affect employee safety and security; takes corrective actionCommunicates to ensure employees learn and comply with specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policiesPrepares training plans and conducts or assigns safety, maintenance, machine operation and quality assurance training to new employeesPrepares documentation and provides performance feedback to introductory employeesProvides feedback to plant leaders concerning employee performance and behaviorEnsures employees have required tools, supplies and area to exercise their dutiesProduction:Operates blow mold machines and other related equipmentAnalyzes charts, work orders, production schedules, and other data to drive production requirementsPerforms and/or assigns personnel to conduct audits, weights and quality checksTroubleshoots and resolves process problems and makes minor repairs to blow-mold and support equipmentPrepares and documents daily production reports, including rejects, regrinds, line efficiencies and otherMaintenance:Loads and unloads trucks and secures product in accordance with customer requirements; inspects incoming materials.Performs mold, neck tooling, pin and other equipment changesInstalls, adjusts, and repairs blow mold machines, trimmers, palletizers and other related equipmentTroubleshoots, locates root problems, and repairs blow mold, baggers and support equipment or PLC programming issuesWarehouse:Records shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability.Determines method of shipment by examining items to be shipped, destination, route, rate, and time of shipmentQuality:Develops and implements quality related training programs for all employeesApplies statistical tools and techniques to monitor plant performance and finished goodsPerforms in-process inspections of manufactured product during molding, packaging and loadingCommunicates quality issues and out of specifications conditions to plant leadersCompletes laboratory testing and collects samples at established intervalsOther:Group Lead will have responsibility for two or more departments (i.e. Production, Warehouse, etc.). Lead will have responsibility for one mid-to-large department or a limited number of shift employees.Other duties and roles maybe assigned by plant managementReasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.Minimum Requirements: 1-3 years experienceHigh School diploma PreferredQualifications: Manufacturing ExperienceAssociates degree or equivalentAltium Packaging, Our Culture Differentiates Us!
