Warehouse Porter/Custodian - 2nd Shift

Job Details Earn $19.00 per hour Shift – 2nd Hours – 6:30 PM to 5:00 AM Days – TBD Location – 500 North Street, Windsor Locks, CT 06096 Responsibilities Providing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment by acting as a custodian/janitor Performing janitorial duties such as cleaning the entire warehouse, including office space, employee break areas, windows and restrooms Maintaining good housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing and waxing floors Occasionally pulling product out of pick slots using an electric pallet jack to clean with a scrubber and returning product Tending to spills including damaged product, oil, grease, etc. Collecting plastic wrap, shredded paper, and empty boxes to be disposed of properly Following all material‑handling equipment safe operating procedures Occasional safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels Having the ability and willingness to follow all material‑handling equipment safe operating procedures Physical Requirements Continually standing, bending, pulling, lifting, pivoting up to 90% of shift Walking on various surfaces including concrete, tile, carpet, etc. Frequently lifting product weighing between 1–60 lbs. or more Frequent lifting of product ranging from floor to overhead Possibility of working on multiple levels of varying height Safe handling of sharp objects including box‑cutting tools Benefits Paid training provided Weekly pay Benefits available from day 1 (medical, dental, vision, company‑matched 401k) PTO and holiday pay offered In certain locations C&S offers $100 toward the purchase of safety shoes Career progression opportunities Tuition reimbursement Employee health & wellness program Employee discounts / purchasing programs Employee assistance program Work Environment Grocery (dry goods) – about 50°‑ 90° Qualifications Attendance, General Equivalency Diploma – General Studies, High School Diploma – General Studies, initiative, productivity, quality, safety, values.
