Kundlas Consulting Group LLC is a professional consulting firm specializing in construction inspection and compliance services for public infrastructure projects. Our core services include on-site inspection of roadway, bridge, and utility construction to ensure adherence to engineering specifications, safety standards, and contract requirements. We support clients with daily reporting, materials testing coordination, schedule tracking, and quality assurance oversight. Additional services include project management, grants management for federally funded infrastructure and disaster recovery programs. 

About the Role:

The Paint Inspector will inspect and test paints, primers, coatings, and related materials used by the Authority. This role requires experience with paint manufacturing, laboratory testing, color matching, ASTM test methods, and regulatory requirements for restricted chemicals.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in chemistry or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience inspecting and/or testing paints, primers, and coatings.
• Experience with ASTM and other laboratory test methods.
• Knowledge of paint manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of industry and military specifications.
• Knowledge of New York State and federal regulations for restricted chemicals, including volatile organic compounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in paint manufacturing plants.
• Quality assurance experience involving paints, primers, or coatings.
• Experience working in paint-testing laboratories.
• Experience with color matching and instrumental color measurement techniques.
• Experience with tri-stimulus measurement.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect paints, primers, coatings, and related materials.
• Review sampling and laboratory testing results.
• Witness manufacturing and/or testing at paint manufacturer laboratories when required.
• Evaluate color matching and instrumental color measurements.
• Verify compliance with Authority paint specifications, labeling requirements, and color catalog requirements.
• Prepare inspection reports and support material acceptance decisions.
