Maintenance Technician – Union FacilityTOPS Staffing is hiring two Maintenance Technicians for a union manufacturing facility — one for daylight shift and one for afternoon shift. This is a unique opportunity to join a company with a long-tenured maintenance team. The current Maintenance Technician has been with the company for approximately 20 years and plans to retire in about a year. The company is hiring now so the new technicians can spend significant time training alongside him, learning the building, equipment, maintenance routines, and day-to-day operations before his retirement.Training & Schedule: Both new hires will begin on the daylight shift and train alongside the current Maintenance Technician for approximately 3 to 6 months before moving to 2nd shift if that is the role you got hired for. Need to be able to do the daylight hours during your training period.Daylight: 6:30 AM–3:00 PM, Monday–FridayAfternoon: 3:00 PM–1:30 AM, Monday–ThursdayTraining will focus on learning the facility, equipment, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, and as much of the current Maintenance technician's knowledge as possible prior to him retiring.What You'll DoTroubleshoot and repair electrical issuesPerform welding and basic fabrication as neededConduct routine inspections of the facility and equipmentPerform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipmentDiagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problemsPerform basic repairs and maintenance throughout the facilityRepair and maintain machines, equipment, and building structuresIdentify potential equipment problems before they lead to downtimeReport unsafe conditions or unsafe equipment to managementProperly document maintenance work and completed tasksMaintain accurate daily time sheets for assigned workProperly handle parts, units, assemblies, tools, and equipmentKeep the maintenance area clean, organized, safe, and operationalEnsure all tools and equipment are accounted for after completing assigned workTake responsibility for the quality and completion of work performedPerform other maintenance duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Plant ManagerWhat We're Looking ForPrevious maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environmentAbility to troubleshoot electrical systemsWelding experienceMechanical troubleshooting and repair experienceBasic hydraulic troubleshooting and repair experienceAbility to perform preventative maintenanceComfortable working on manufacturing equipment and facility systemsStrong attention to safety and detailAbility to document work accuratelyDependable and able to work independentlyWillingness to learn the facility and equipment from an experienced maintenance professionalWhy This Opportunity?Union positionMonday–Friday daylight schedule availableMonday–Thursday afternoon schedule availableApproximately 3 months of dedicated daylight trainingLearn directly from a maintenance technician with approximately 20 years of experience at the facilityOpportunity to learn the equipment and building before taking on the role independentlyLong-term opportunity with an established manufacturing companyIf you have hands-on industrial maintenance experience, particularly electrical troubleshooting and welding, this is an opportunity to learn from an experienced maintenance professional and become an important part of the facility's long-term maintenance team.
