Job Summary At the direction of the principal and in collaboration with the Department of MTSS, the Instructional Specialist provides and facilitates skills-based literacy and/or math interventions and other academic supports for students in compliance with the TN RTI2 framework and MNPS MTSS framework. The specialist collaborates regularly with educators to use data-based decision‑making to meet individual student needs. What you will do Instruction: Provide targeted literacy or math intervention to individuals and small groups using district‑approved curriculum and resources; collaborate with classroom teachers and personnel to plan, implement, and adjust instruction along a continuum of increasing intensity based on data. Assessment: Serve on (and may lead) the School‑wide Assessment Team to implement MTSS screening; conduct progress monitoring and ongoing formative assessment in compliance with the state RTI2 framework and MNPS MTSS guidance. Data‑Based Decision‑Making: Participate in MTSS Data Team meetings and other MTSS team meetings; collaborate with staff to analyze and integrate multiple data sources across literacy, math, SEL/behavior, and attendance. Data Collection & Documentation: Work with school personnel to fulfill state RTII and dyslexia law requirements through documentation, reporting, and family communication; maintain accurate records of students’ services and progress. Professional Learning: Attend district‑provided professional development sessions throughout the school year.
