The ideal candidate is a self-sufficient inspector with strong experience in GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and CMM operation, capable of supporting production with minimal oversight.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform precision mechanical inspections throughout the manufacturing process, including:Incoming (receiving), first article, in-process, and final inspectionsRaw materials, machined parts, sheet metal components, and assembliesIndependently read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, BOMs, and specifications, applying GD&T on a daily basisOperate manual CMM equipment, including making basic program edits to ensure accurate measurementsInspect complex components and assemblies, including precision sheet metal and fabricated partsUse standard inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.) to verify dimensional accuracyGenerate detailed inspection reports and nonconformance reports (NCRs), ensuring accuracy and traceabilityIdentify quality issues, escalate nonconformances, and support root cause and corrective action activitiesAudit production processes and documentation to ensure compliance with quality standards and proceduresPartner cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality issuesSupport continuous improvement by suggesting enhancements to inspection methods and workflowsAssist in training and guiding Quality Inspector I team membersMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work environmentKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong ability to interpret GD&T and engineering drawings independently (required)Hands-on experience operating manual CMMs and editing basic programsWorking knowledge of machining, fabrication, and precision sheet metal inspectionFamiliarity with secondary processes (paint, plating, powder coat, etc.)Ability to read and interpret weld symbols, callouts, and specificationsProficiency in mechanical measurement techniques and inspection toolsStrong attention to detail and documentation accuracySolid communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionallyBasic computer proficiency (MS Office, inspection systems)Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent2–5 years of hands-on quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environmentProven ability to perform first article, in-process, and final inspections independentlyPreferred Qualifications:Experience in semiconductor, aerospace, or precision manufacturing environmentsCleanroom experienceExposure to New Product Introduction (NPI)ASQ certification (CQI or equivalent)Experience training or mentoring junior inspectorsWork Environment:Manufacturing environment with exposure to mechanical parts and equipmentRequired use of PPEAbility to stand for extended periods and lift/move materials as neededWhy This Role?This role is ideal for a strong Level II inspector who enjoys hands-on inspection work and wants to deepen technical expertise in CMM, GD&T, and precision manufacturing, while gaining exposure to complex, high-spec production environments and future growth into advanced inspector roles.Ultra Clean Technology is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
