Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Level 3 trauma, stroke, and STEMI-certified emergency department treating an average of 50–55 patients per day
• Triage patients using the ESI rating system, including lobby triage; travelers are expected to participate in triage
• Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 in the main ER and 1:2 for ICU-acuity patients; care for intermixed patient populations including psychiatric and ICU-level holds
• Independently read and interpret telemetry using Philips monitoring equipment
• Administer and manage critical care drips including nitroglycerin, levophed, insulin, and cardizem
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC, TNCC, and CPI certifications throughout the duration of the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Nebraska (or compact eligibility)
• Minimum 1 year of emergency room experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC, TNCC, and CPI
• Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry
• Strong communication skills and ability to function as a collaborative team member
• Must live at least 45 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a rural or community hospital setting
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health records
• Experience with common ED presentations including chest pain, DKA, sepsis, respiratory distress, trauma (including MVA and farming accidents), and pediatric patients
