Process Engineer

Job Title: Process EngineerDuration: Initially 1-year (temp to hire)Schedule: Monday – Thursday from the office, Fridays work from homeLocation: Houston, TX This opportunity offers the chance to contribute to LNG facility design and project execution within a multidisciplinary engineering environment focused on natural gas, LNG, hydrogen, and low-carbon energy solutions. The role supports safe, efficient and high-quality process engineering across project phases, with involvement in process simulation, engineering design, risk studies and cross-functional collaboration. This company is known for delivering engineering and project management services across North America and globally, with a strong focus on disciplined planning, technical excellence and energy transition projects.Required Education:Bachelor’s degree in Chemical EngineeringRequired Experience:7–10 years of direct and/or relevant experience in LNG engineering, design and operationsStrong understanding of LNG processing, handling and safety protocolsExperience delivering engineering design across pre-FEED, FEED, detailed engineering and construction supportExperience supporting LNG facility areas including gas pre-treatment, liquefaction, utilities, import and export terminals, storage, transportation and distribution systemsExperience checking and reviewing calculations, process deliverables and vendor-supplied equipment documentation for compliance with specificationsExperience participating in risk and safety analysis studies such as PHA, HAZOP, QRA and LOPARequired Skills:Strong capability in process design calculations including mass and energy balances, equipment and line sizing, hydraulic modelling, relief system design, material selection, safety system design and plant area classificationAbility to develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), equipment and instrument data sheets, process control narratives and shutdown keysProficiency with process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, UniSim, ProMAX, Pipeflo and KORFExtensive knowledge of LNG industry regulations, standards and best practices, including LNG OEM licensor technologies such as APCI and ConocoPhillipsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to engineering decisionsClear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively in client-facing and cross-functional environmentsHighly organised approach with strong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to complete assigned tasks and solve problems using established guidelines and proceduresCapability to provide technical guidance and support to junior and intermediate engineersPreferred Qualifications:Working toward or eligible for registration as a P.Eng. in Canada or PE in the United StatesAbout Airswift:Airswift is an international workforce solutions provider within the energy, process and infrastructure industries.
