Assistant Professor - School of Nursing Job ID: 297983 Location: Georgia College & State University Full/Part Time: Full Time Regular/Temporary: Regular Job Summary The Georgia College & State University School of Nursing is recruiting for a tenure‑track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This is a 12‑month academic appointment with a summer teaching requirement. The selected candidate will support the academic environment and educational mission of the University, the College of Health Sciences, and the School of Nursing through student instruction and support at graduate and undergraduate levels, research and professional development, and service to the institution and the community. Responsibilities Teaching/Instructing – 50%: Full‑time instructional load (12‑15 hours per semester) teaching in areas of expertise. Course development and oversight, regular office hours, student mentoring, and other teaching responsibilities. May contribute to the core curriculum by teaching freshman or sophomore seminar courses. Research and Professional Development – 20%: Conduct research and develop within nursing. Participation in ongoing professional development, completing continuing education, submitting articles for peer‑reviewed journals, presenting at professional meetings, applying for internal and external grants, membership and participation in professional organizations. Service – 20%: Provide service to the institution, profession, and public. Serve on committees, task forces, mentor faculty and students, program coordination, continuing education service, participation in professional organizations, consulting work, community organization membership. Other duties – 10%: Work collegially and effectively with individuals; support core curriculum and foundation courses for majors and non‑majors. Required Qualifications Terminal degree in nursing or related discipline (PhD, DNP). Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements. Unencumbered RN license in the United States and ability to obtain a Georgia license. APRN certification as a Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and ability to obtain a GA license. Preferred Qualifications PhD in Nursing. Teaching experience in undergraduate and graduate programs. Evidence of scholarly or research dissemination. Understanding of Georgia College's mission. Enthusiasm for working with high‑achieving students in an academic community. Methodological innovation and creative teaching strategies.
