We are seeking a dynamic educator to provide exemplary leadership to all members of our school community.

Job Description

Gloucester Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) teacher (grades 6-8) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons that align with the school's curriculum and standards, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting the academic and social development of students.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences in ELA
Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that meet the diverse needs of students
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
Use a variety of teaching strategies and instructional resources to address different learning styles and abilities
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use data to adjust teaching strategies
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes mutual respect and effective learning
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the broader school community to support student learning and development
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and developments
Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
Implement school policies and procedures and maintain high standards of classroom management.

Certification

New Jersey State Certification as a Middle School English Language Arts Teacher #1106

Education

Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.

Experience

Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
