Robert Half Management Resources is seeking Senior Accounting & Finance Consultants to support clients throughout the Greater Tampa Bay and Sarasota markets.

This opportunity is designed for professionals who have operated at the Assistant Controller or Controller level and enjoy a hands-on approach to accounting leadership. Our consultants partner with organizations during periods of growth, transformation, leadership transitions, system implementations, audit readiness, acquisitions, and other critical business initiatives.

What You'll Do

Project responsibilities may include:

• Leading month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Managing financial reporting and ensuring compliance with GAAP
• Overseeing consolidations, intercompany accounting, and multi-entity environments
• Reviewing complex account reconciliations and balance sheet analyses
• Strengthening internal controls, policies, and accounting processes
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Leading ERP implementations, system upgrades, and process improvement initiatives
• Partnering with executive leadership to provide financial insights and support decision-making
• Managing audit preparation and serving as a key contact for external auditors
• Providing leadership and mentorship to accounting teams while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• Experience operating at the Assistant Controller or Controller level
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting operations
• Experience in complex accounting environments, including multi-entity or multi-location organizations
• Proven ability to quickly assess challenges and implement effective solutions
• Advanced Excel and large ERP systems experience
• CPA preferred
• Strong communication, leadership, and business partnering skills

Work Environment

This is a hybrid consulting opportunity supporting clients across the Greater Tampa Bay and Sarasota regions. Many engagements involve onsite collaboration, typically up to three days per week, while project requirements vary by client. Some engagements may offer greater remote flexibility; however, consultants should expect a primarily hybrid work model and be comfortable working directly with client teams when needed.
