Cloud Engineer (Azure / Identity & Security)Location: Remote throughout New England / NY Travel: Occasional visits to regional offices in New England and NYCompensation: $140,000 - $150,000 base salary, with flexibility for an exceptional candidateBonus: Performance-based bonus typically around 10%, with potential up to 15%A growing professional services organization is seeking a senior-level Cloud Engineer to join its infrastructure team. This is a newly created position driven by continued growth and increased adoption of cloud technologies. The environment is highly collaborative, and this individual will play a key role supporting cloud operations, identity management, security initiatives, and enterprise application integrations.This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys working across multiple areas of infrastructure rather than being limited to a narrowly focused specialty. You'll partner closely with cloud, networking, security, and support teams while helping drive the organization's ongoing cloud transformation efforts.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister and enhance Microsoft Azure cloud services across a complex enterprise environmentManage Microsoft Entra ID, including identity governance, SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, RBAC, and enterprise application integrationsSupport and maintain integrations for a large portfolio of SaaS applicationsConfigure and troubleshoot identity and access management solutionsAdminister Microsoft Intune for endpoint management, device compliance, application deployment, and security policiesSupport cloud security initiatives using Microsoft security tools and best practicesAssist with security audits, compliance requirements, and remediation effortsProvide advanced troubleshooting and escalation support for infrastructure, cloud, and identity-related issuesParticipate in technology implementations, cloud migrations, and new platform deploymentsCreate and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational proceduresCollaborate with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors on projects and operational supportRequired Qualifications5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or a related fieldStrong hands-on Microsoft Azure experience within an enterprise environmentDeep knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, including: Single Sign-On (SSO)Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)Conditional AccessRole-Based Access Control (RBAC)Enterprise application integrationsExperience managing SaaS applications through centralized identity platformsStrong Microsoft Intune administration experienceUnderstanding of cloud security principles and identity management best practicesExperience with Microsoft Defender or similar cloud security technologiesAbility to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and cloud-related issuesStrong communication, organization, and collaboration skillsComfortable working in a fast-paced, lean IT environment where priorities can shift as business needs evolvePreferred ExperienceProfessional services, legal, financial services, insurance, or other highly regulated industriesAzure Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technologiesAzure SQL and other Platform-as-a-Service offeringsMicrosoft E5 security ecosystemSharePoint Online, Power Automate, Power Apps, or OneDriveSecurity and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001Enterprise AI, cloud integrations, or modern automation initiativesAzure certifications including Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, or Azure Security EngineerWhat You'll BringThe successful candidate will be a hands-on technical professional who enjoys solving complex problems, supporting critical systems, and contributing wherever needed.
