Position Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education and the Main Street School Principal, the candidate will provide direct instruction, conduct evaluations, develop IEP plans, manage speech assistants, and document student progress. Essential Job Functions Provide direct instruction to preschool students individually or in small groups. Conduct progress monitoring and complete speech language evaluations. Participate in the comprehensive evaluation, review, and reevaluation process. Assist in the development of student IEPs. Produce accurate progress reports based on clear data. Consult with parents, teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders regarding student needs and special services. Monitor student progress and make timely instructional decisions. Establish a positive learning environment and respond to individual student needs. Develop speech and language skills to facilitate personal, social, and intellectual development. Collaborate with related services staff and carry out services as ordered. Adhere to all safety rules, procedures, and regulations related to student evaluations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Follow and carry out written or oral instructions. Perform basic arithmetic operations as needed. Operate personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel). Work effectively with a diverse group of staff and students. Maintain confidentiality of student and employee information. Establish rapport with students for instruction and progress monitoring. Maintain cooperative relationships with students, staff, and stakeholders. Report work orally or in writing to supervisors and IEP team members. Demonstrate effective writing and verbal communication skills. Equipment Personal computers, copiers, and AAC devices. Physical and Mental Demands Work in standard office and school building environments. Observe student responses during evaluations and observations. Write clear, concise, and grammatically correct reports. Create assessment reports using word processing. Attend team meetings to present evaluation results. Require prolonged sitting or standing. Occasional physical exertion to move or handle objects. Occasional stooping, bending, and reaching.
