Compensation Range: $16.50 - $17.50 Job Summary: As a Counter Staff Shift Leader at our seafood market, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the counter, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and supervising a team of counter staff. You will play a key role in maintaining quality standards, implementing procedures, and promoting a positive working environment. Responsibilities Greet customers and assist them with their seafood selections. Ensure a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all customers. Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally. Maintain knowledge of seafood products, including sourcing, preparation, and cooking recommendations. Team Supervision and Training Supervise, train, and mentor counter staff members. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to ensure smooth operation during shifts. Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback. Operational Management Oversee the daily opening and/or closing procedures of the counter. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and sanitation standards. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment as needed. Manage cash handling procedures and reconcile transactions at the end of shifts. Quality Control Monitor product displays to ensure attractive presentation and organization. Collaborate with management to develop promotional strategies and marketing initiatives. Requirements Proven experience in a similar role within the restaurant industry or retail environment. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Working Conditions This position involves standing for extended periods and working in a fast-paced environment. Handling of seafood products and operation in a refrigerated environment may be required.
