ES Heil

Title & Location Controller – Heil Environmental; Fort Payne, AL; reports to Equipment Finance Director; Department: Accounting. Position Summary The Controller for Heil Environmental reports to the Equipment Finance Director and is responsible for shaping and managing accounting and financial reporting processes, financial controls and accounting policy. Key responsibilities include managing and coordinating the preparation of a detailed set of financial statements with full reconciliations each month, ensuring compliance with all group reporting requirements and all local reporting requirements. Responsibilities Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring robust and comprehensive review and reconciliation processes, and meeting all internal and group reporting deadlines. Manage the forecast process monthly, quarterly, and annually, working with cross‑functional teams to develop the Book to Ship financial forecast and participate in S&OP process. Conduct detailed analysis of forecast updates versus prior forecasts with variance explanations. Develop and execute accounting practices in accordance with GAAP and corporate policies to ensure effective internal controls. Utilize internal audit processes and other measures to maintain effective internal control systems. Review and recommend improvements to corporate compliance policies and work to minimize financial risk throughout the organization. Continuously evaluate system flows, emphasizing continuous improvement through lean enterprise activities and building controls into processes. Coordinate external and parent company internal audit visits to satisfy all audit requirements. Supervise and develop direct reports and participate in special projects. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience. CPA and/or CMA preferred. 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment using ERP systems. Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills. Ability to communicate accounting and financial information clearly to all levels of the organization. Strong professional diplomacy, independence, and ability to accept outside direction. Leadership experience with proven success managing and developing a team. High integrity, strong work ethic, and commitment to continuous improvement. Excellent time‑management skills. Skills & Abilities Maintain the highest ethical and work standards and promote these attributes in co‑workers. Express thoughts clearly, both orally and in writing, using good grammar. Present concise, well‑organized reports in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Listen to understand input, feedback, and concerns, and respond promptly and positively to questions and requests. Work cooperatively with others, supporting teamwork and company initiatives. Identify and communicate suggestions for work improvements and perform root‑cause analysis to implement permanent solutions. Apply a sense of urgency to resolve problems and create opportunities for increased productivity and value. Share best practices with other employees. Accept responsibility and accessibility for strategic planning and successful implementation of projects, programs, and duties.
