Safety & Environmental Specialist

Are you a safety professional with experience enforcing occupational health, safety, and environmental programs in warehouse or industrial environments? Do you bring a proactive approach to identifying hazards and ensuring regulatory compliance? If so, this role plays a key part in supporting safe and compliant operations at NMRLC. In this role, you will implement and manage safety and environmental programs in accordance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and Navy requirements. You will conduct inspections, training, audits, and mishap investigations while maintaining safety records and reporting. Your efforts will ensure a safe workplace and regulatory compliance across all warehouse operations. In This Role You Will:

• Implement safety and environmental programs.

• Support hazmat and environmental compliance.

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Have:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum five (5) years of safety experience related to the job description listed above.
• Knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations.
• OSHA Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO).
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to meet Government suitability requirements.
• A current and active NACI and PIV Credentials which will require US Citizenship, and Active and Current Secret Security Clearance is preferred.
• Active Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate approved delivery vehicles.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation.
• A current OSHA certification or willing to obtain.
• Successful background checks include fingerprint checks and drug screenings.
• Have the ability to work on-site daily Monday through Friday while meeting our customers' requirements at the Cheatham Annex, located near Williamsburg, Virginia

Preferred Qualifications:

• DoD or Navy safety program experience.
• Valid forklift license (4K-6K and stand-up forklifts) or ability to obtain.
