Job Description

Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse in psychiatric settings provides specialized mental health nursing care to individuals experiencing behavioral, emotional, or psychiatric challenges. The role involves delivering person-centered, compassionate care while supporting recovery and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' mental health needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide and coordinate nursing care to individuals and groups with psychiatric conditions, ensuring safety and therapeutic engagement.
• Educate patients and their families on mental health management, discharge planning, and coping strategies.
• Monitor patient safety, report potential risks, and implement interventions to prevent adverse outcomes.
• Serve as a clinical leader by delegating tasks, supervising staff, and promoting professional development.
• Document clinical observations, interventions, and progress according to organizational policies and standards.

Qualifications:

• Possess at least 2 years of behavioral health experience, with pediatric expertise preferred.
• Hold a valid state nursing license recognized in Michigan.
• BLS certification is required.
• Demonstrate strong assessment, communication, and crisis intervention skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a recovery-focused, person-centered environment.
• Exhibit professionalism, empathy, and cultural competence.
