Accounting SpecialistThe Accounting Specialist computes, classifies, records and verifies numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records. Assists the Controller and/or CFO with various accounting duties as needed.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Regular onsite attendanceAbility to work well with others in a team environmentProvides accurate, efficient and exceptional customer service to internal and external customersMaintains knowledge of bank regulations, security and compliance responsibilities, products, policies, procedures and meets deadlinesSatisfactorily completes all training required for the positionPrepares daily reconciliationsReconciles the Federal Reserve Bank statement daily and other correspondent bank accounts at least monthlyBalances the Banks cash accounts daily.Prepares and posts journal entriesReviews incoming and outgoing wires in accordance with the banks policiesProcess accounts payable accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with bank policiesPrepares ad-hoc reports to help management track expenses for key vendorsAssists in the 1099-MISC processing for vendorsReconciles general ledger accounts daily/monthlyProcess cash orders and cash deposits for the branches weeklyOther duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibilities:This job has no supervisory responsibilitiesQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. One year related experience preferred.Language Skills:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Other Qualifications:Computer Skills: Ability to perform basic computer skills and operate computer programs.
