Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse – New York

Start Date: October 2026

Location: Rochester, New York

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week assignment with every-other-weekend requirement. Day/evening shifts maintain 5:1 ratios (stretch to 6-7:1). Night shifts maintain 6-7:1 ratios (stretch to 8-10:1 as needed). Block scheduling may be accommodated based on facility needs. Time-off requests limited to one week per contract period.

Highlights:

• 19-bed cardiac unit specializing in medical-surgical and telemetry patient care
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Epic charting system utilized for all documentation
• Patient Care Technicians provide support with vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, and activities of daily living
• 16 hours of paid orientation plus up to 5 billable hours for pre-start educational modules
• Float responsibilities within scope to like units as needed to support facility operations

Requirements:

• Active New York State RN license (must be in hand prior to submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS certification required; NIHSS certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and IV placement (mandatory skills)
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with peripheral line care, oxygen administration protocols, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Knowledge of rapid response team activation and utilization
• Must reside more than 75 miles from facility location
