Job Summary

The HVAC Journeyman is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in various settings.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems and components
• Install, maintain, and replace HVAC equipment and related components
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections of HVAC systems
• Maintain accurate service reports and maintenance records
• Follow safety procedures, codes, regulations, and manufacturer specifications

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Other Required Qualifications

• Relevant certifications (EPA 608, NATE)

Required Experience

• 3+ years of experience in HVAC field  
• Hands-on experience with residential and commercial HVAC systems  
• Previous experience in a Journeyman or similar role

Proposed Salary

$28.85 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

• Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position 
• Proficiency in HVAC systems installation, repair, and maintenance  
• Ability to read blueprints  
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively 
• Commitment to safety protocols

KNOWLEDGE

• Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
• Knowledge of refrigeration principles
• Familiarity with HVAC codes and regulations

SKILLS

• Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills  
• Use of diagnostic tools and troubleshooting  
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills  
• Excellent attention to detail
