Postdoctoral Fellow - Neurosurgery - Research

Overview A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Department of Neurosurgery under the mentorship of Joseph McCarty, PhD. The post‑doctoral position will involve basic and translational research in the area of brain tumor cell biology and mouse models of primary and metastatic brain cancer. There will be a particular emphasis on the brain microenvironment, including studies of how primary and metastatic tumor cells co‑opt the neurovascular unit/blood‑brain barrier for selective growth and survival. Learning Objectives Receive training and mentoring in the use of mouse models and in‑vitro culture systems to study cell adhesion and signaling pathways involved in tumor‑cell–stromal‑cell interactions. Learn biochemical, molecular genetic, and cell biological techniques. Eligibility Requirements Applicant should have a PhD and/or MD and peer‑reviewed publications or manuscripts under review in internationally recognized journals. Strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology is required. Position Information MD Anderson offers full‑time postdoc positions with salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000, depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
