Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Travel Contract)

Galax, VA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected 36 hours/week | Rotating weekends (every other)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 13-bed Emergency Department serving patients of all ages, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
• Assess, monitor, and manage patients presenting with conditions such as sepsis, CHF, chest pain, stroke, DKA, and trauma
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4 and utilize Paragon EHR for documentation and care coordination
• Operate ED-specific equipment in alignment with department protocols and standards
• Occasional float to the ICU as needed
• Adhere to facility dress code: blue or black scrubs required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with required licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Virginia
• Required certifications prior to start: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and CPI/HWC
• Minimum 2 years of ER/Trauma and Critical Care experience
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel placement

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior Emergency Room experience in an acute care hospital setting
• Familiarity with Paragon EHR or similar electronic health record systems
• Experience managing high-acuity and multi-system diagnoses in a fast-paced ED environment
