Recreation Fee Specialist

Summary This position is located within the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, National Park Service - Intermountain, Division of Ranger Activities located in Sulphur, Oklahoma. You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work. Major Duties This is a Merit Promotion announcement for career and career conditional Bureau employees, Career Transition eligibles (CTAP), Current or former time-limited employees eligible under Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) and those who are eligible under the hiring paths listed above. At the full performance level (GS-09) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Operation of automated fee machines and national reservation system. Manage campground hosts and assist with fee compliance in our campgrounds and at boat ramps. Assist with traffic congestion management. Serve as a technical authority for the resolution of especially difficult or sensitive technical problems associated with the collection, deposit, tracking, and expenditure of fee revenue and donations. Ensure all collected fees are remitted and reconciled in accordance with established policies and procedures. Coordinate the implementation of new procedures, plans, and systems to improve in-house tracking of fees, tours, campgrounds, events, permits, etc. Manage commercial use authorization permits and special use permits. Development of advice and implementation plans and procedures for all staff, ensuring that all program compliance goals and reporting requirements are met. Conducts analysis and studies of financial and operational data to identify and resolve problems. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
