Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) for a day shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and LA state licensure.

Details

• Works in the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics department performing respiratory therapy and transports within the hospital
• Day shift 4x12 hour schedule from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Facility prefers 48 hours per week but is open to a 36/48 rotating schedule
• Every other weekend required with 2 Fridays in a 4 week schedule
• No call requirements
• Epic charting system required
• Care settings include Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and NICU

Requirements

• CRT or RRT required
• LA state license required in hand at time of consideration (license required if applicable)
• ACLS and BLS required
• NRP required to work in NICU
• PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, higher experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, high frequency jet ventilator, and oscillator
• Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
• Experience drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures such as bubble CPAP, oscillating ventilator, and high risk delivery assistance

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include medication delivery, oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, and pulmonary hygiene
• Experience with care of patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, ECMO, and fresh tracheostomy
• Performs inter-departmental and ambulance patient transport
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at local rate
• First-time travelers may not be considered for this position
• Previous permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible to travel
