Purpose of Role / Job Summary

The EHS Business Partner provides strategic and hands-on leadership for Boulder, Westminster, and Fort Collins. Partnering with site leaders and Global EHS, the role protects people, animals, the environment, property, and business continuity while enabling compliant, reliable research operations.

Leadership Expectations

Maintain a visible presence, build trusted relationships, coach leaders and employees, encourage open reporting, and use risk and performance data to drive practical improvement.

Key Responsibilities

· Compliance and Risk Management. Maintain regulatory obligations; conduct inspections and risk assessments; apply the hierarchy of controls.

· EHS Systems, Audits, and Reporting. Maintain procedures, calendars, records, permits, and training; coordinate audits and report performance.

· Incident, Occupational Health, and Emergency Management. Lead investigations and CAPAs; coordinate occupational health, return to work, and emergency readiness.

· Environmental Compliance and Sustainability. Oversee environmental permits and programs; support waste reduction, resource conservation, and ESG metrics.

· Laboratory, Vivarium, and Exposure Safety. Support chemical, biological, animal, ergonomic, PPE, exposure-control, GLP, and AAALAC requirements.

· Contractor, Project, and Change Management. Control high-risk contractor work and review projects, equipment, materials, and process changes before startup.

· Training and Engagement. Coordinate training and competency; promote employee participation, reporting, and positive recognition.

· Multi-Site Leadership. Standardize core processes, coach leaders, and promote accountability across all three locations.

· Authority and Financial Responsibilities

· Stop imminent-danger work, suspend unsafe contractor activity, remove unsafe equipment, and escalate corrective actions. Support EHS budgets, capital requests, procurement, and vendor oversight.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety or Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Science, Life Sciences, or related discipline. Equivalent combinations of education and directly

relevant experience may be considered in accordance with company policy.

Preferences

· Multi-site EHS responsibility within laboratory, vivarium, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, research, warehouse, or similarly regulated operations.

· Experience with federal OSHA, EPA/CDPHE environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, incident investigation, contractor safety, and emergency management.

· Experience supporting AAALAC-accredited or GLP-regulated operations and multinational organizations is preferred.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

· Extended computer and display screen equipment usage

· Ability to push, pull, lift pounds unassisted.

· Stand / walk for extended period of time.

· Fine manipulation including handle touch object or tools and ability to handled controls to perform work.

Performance may be evaluated using TRIR, severity, near-miss and hazard reporting, safety observations, CAPA closure and effectiveness, audit results, inspection completion, training compliance, risk-assessment completion, management safety walks, employee engagement, environmental compliance, waste reduction, regulatory outcomes, and other approved leading and lagging indicators.

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range is $29.13 - 24.88/hr and will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and responsibilities. This role is eligible for medical, vision, and dental benefits. Application deadline October 2nd, 2026. This deadline may be extended if the position is not filled.
