About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular Operating Room Surgical Technologist – Virginia**Start Date:** September 7, 2026 **Location:** Richmond, Virginia **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Unit hours 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM; call coverage starts at 3:00 PM when assigned; weekend call includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday rotation**Highlights:** - Work in a specialized Cardiovascular Operating Room within a dedicated Heart Hospital setting- Scrub advanced cardiac cases including CABG, valve replacements and repairs, aortic dissections, and TAVR procedures- Participate in thoracic surgery cases including daVinci-assisted lobectomies, wedge resections, and mediastinal procedures- Gain experience with ECMO initiation, pericardial windows, open thoracotomy, and VATS procedures- Hospital-provided scrubs included- Opportunity to work with state-of-the-art cardiac and thoracic surgical equipment**Requirements:** - Proficiency in scrubbing cardiac cases requiring bypass and related mediastinal procedures- Experience with thoracic surgery cases, including daVinci-assisted procedures, open thoracotomy, and VATS- Ability to take call as assigned- BLS certification required- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular and thoracic surgical instrumentation and techniques**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This position offers the chance to advance your surgical technology career in a specialized cardiovascular operating room environment.
