Content Director for the Central African Region

Content Director for the Central African Region Part‑time The African Psychological Association (APA) is a scientific and professional organization that represents psychologists and the mental health industry in every African country. The APA seeks to educate Africans and the diaspora about psychology, behavioral health and mental wellness. We promote psychology as a science and support appropriate practice. We advocate for the use of psychological knowledge to inform public policy and champion the application of psychology to promote human rights, overall health, wellness, dignity and esteem. We are looking for a dynamic, self‑motivated individual with experience and skills in web content management, writing and editing for the web, graphic design and site management. The Content Director for Central Africa will develop the voice for all aspects of the organization’s online presence related to eleven Central African countries and territories. In addition to writing, editing, and proofreading site content, this person will work closely with the technical team to maintain site standards and with business development and marketing teams to craft site promotions, email newsletters and online outreach campaigns. Strong communication skills and experience managing online marketing and outreach campaigns are required. Tasks require a strong attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines. Responsibilities Oversee freelance contributors covering the Central Africa region Copyedit and proofread all web content for the organization’s web presence for the Central Africa Region (requires working with content management software) Maintain a consistent look and feel throughout all web properties Working with a cross‑departmental team, maintain and develop the master content calendar for all web properties Ensure that web‑based information is archived for future needs and reference Track and report on all site metrics related to Central Africa Region‑related content Work cooperatively with key team members and the public Qualifications A passion for and strong understanding of the mental health industry and the APA(Africa)’s mission. Exceptional writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of our business’ various types of content. An analytical mind and interest in using data to optimize and scale blog marketing strategies and tactics. Excellent organizational skills to work independently and manage projects with many moving parts. 2‑3 years of marketing and content creation experience.
