Job Title Boiler Mechanic – Boston and/or Philadelphia Location Danbury, CT Job Type Full-Time Salary $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year, DOE Benefits 401(k) with company match Health, dental and vision insurance Life insurance Paid time off Paid holidays Professional development assistance Vision insurance About The Job This position is primarily technical in nature and requires an in-depth knowledge of the design and operation of control systems, data acquisition systems, PLC’s, boilers, burner management systems, combustion and draft control systems, and fuel oil supply and gauging systems. Due to the high visibility this position has to customers, the holder of this position is required to maintain a high level of diplomacy with the customer at all times and act in the best interest of company. The holder of this position is expected to make every effort to remain current with the ever-developing technology concerning this trade and be familiar with the general overview of represented manufacturers’ equipment and the services it supplies to the industry. All policies noted in the Service Policy Handbook are applicable to this position. Although primarily based in a particular territory, travel for the purpose of performing the duties of this position are unlimited at the discretion of the department supervisors. Responsibilities Provide technical assistance as needed to customers or other employees. This includes providing troubleshooting assistance over the phone, supplying documentation and follow-up to ensure timely and effective customer support. Provide equipment operations and maintenance training to customers. Daily complete a Service Report in the manner outlined in the Services Policy Handbook. Access company server and apps to upload and download documentation, service reports, product manuals, and electrical/mechanical prints. Install, start-up, and service on an as needed basis all equipment sold by company in addition to any customers’ equipment company Services wishes to take the responsibility for. All work performed must be in compliance with company standards and policies and comply with all the applicable codes as stated by the authority having jurisdiction in the area where the work is being performed. Promote the sales of maintenance contracts, spare parts and/or new equipment. Configure and program as instructed by engineering any controls or systems being commissioned or serviced by company Services. Supply Home Office Engineering all updated configurations, programs, marked up prints, etc. Provide tangible feedback via a “Blind Field Service Reports” and QC reports to engineering on the operation and performance of new equipment, control panels and design concepts. Perform electrical troubleshooting on boiler and fuel oil control systems and field devices. Self-motivated study of current and new equipment and technical control and operation of combustion and fuel oil systems. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree or Trade School (Preferred) Field service experience: 2 years (Required) Willingness to travel: 75% (Preferred) Schedule Monday to Friday with overtime How to Apply Think you are a good fit?
