Job Title: Attorney - Criminal Defense, Workers' Compensation & Insurance Defense

Location: Roanoke, VA
Employment Type: Full-Time

We are hiring for a dynamic law firm dedicated to providing high-quality legal representation across a range of practice areas. They pride themselves on delivering personalized service and effective advocacy for their clients. Their practice areas include Criminal Defense, Workers' Compensation, and Insurance Defense matters, allowing our attorneys to work on diverse and challenging cases.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated attorney. The ideal candidate will have experience in criminal law, workers' compensation claims, and insurance defense litigation. This position offers an opportunity to work on a variety of cases while collaborating with a supportive team of legal professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Represent clients in criminal defense matters, including trial preparation, motions, plea negotiations, and courtroom advocacy.
Handle workers' compensation claims, including client counseling, claim filings, hearings, and appeals.
Manage insurance defense cases, including claims analysis, discovery, settlement negotiations, and litigation.
Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice to clients.
Maintain strong communication with clients, colleagues, and external parties.
Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and court decisions in all assigned practice areas.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in Virginia.
Proven experience in criminal defense, workers' compensation, and/or insurance defense.
Strong litigation skills, including trial experience preferred.
Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to client service.
