Carton Division of JRCI   is seeking an   OFFSET PRESS ASSISTANT for 3rd shift.

The Assistant Press Operator acts as the number two person on the press crew. They assist the Press Operator in running the press and handling any duties assigned by them.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Can set-up and run the press on medium difficulty jobs.
2. Assists the Pressman in troubleshooting all types of press problems, ink, water and paperboard problems.
3. Handle all routine maintenance on the press.
4. Can run the press in the Pressman’s absence.
5. Handle all aspects of the Assistant Pressman’s responsibilities.
6. Begin to acquire Pressman’s skills:

1. Learn the theory and practice of printing.
2. Frequently run and set up the press.
3. Learn to direct a press crew. 

7. Know the press console and densitometry.

8. Exhibit a willingness to learn and progress to the next skill level.

9. Exhibit the flexibility to handle any duties assigned by the Pressman or any other duties required by management.

Skills, Experience, and Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years offset press experience.
• Ability to read and write at high school equivalency.
• Must be able to read a ruler and work in both metric and English customary system, and use a calculator.
• Requires data entry of production information at the press in the ERP system.
• Must have solid mechanical aptitude.
• Must be able to lift 30 - 50 lbs. on as needed basis.
• Requires continuous standing, bending, lifting and may require moving moderate loads as needed.
• Must be able to readily communicate with supervisor.

Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.
