Sterile Processing TechThe Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for the cleaning, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments and patient care equipment. They also serve as a Case Cart Attendant in the Operating Room, ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures.Responsibilities:Receive, sort, process, and sterilize surgical instruments and patient care equipment following departmental protocols.Operate and load sterilizers (Steam, ETO, Sterrad, Steris), ensuring biological and Bowie Dick tests are accurately performed, recorded, and incubated.Prepare case carts for surgical procedures using doctors’ preference cards, assembling instruments, drugs, and equipment.Maintain accurate sterilization records, including proper labeling, chemical indicator interpretation, and documentation.Confer with nursing and supply teams regarding shortages or missing items, and complete daily checklists.Follow safety protocols, including universal precautions and PPE use, to ensure a sterile environment.Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of experience in instrument processing or completion of a Central Processing Course.Valid CRCST or CBSPDT certification.Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, push/pull 60 lbs, and stand for extended periods.High school diploma or equivalent required.Flexibility to work rotating shifts, every other weekend, and holidays.Benefits & Growth:Opportunities for professional development and certification renewal.Working in a fast-paced environment with a dedicated healthcare team.Benefits:Day 1 Medical, Dental, and Vision insuranceTravel reimbursement for assignmentsPaid sick leave and additional valuable benefitsAccess to our $1,000 Inspire a Friend Referral ProgramWhy TactStaff?Choosing TactStaff means partnering with a team that understands the unique demands and rewards of Sterile Processing Tech.
