What You'll Do as a Provider Liaison/Business Development Manager

• Identify new business opportunities and serve as the communication liaison with local medical providers.
• Partner with the creative team, executive leaders, physician partners, and other stakeholders to research, design, and implement multichannel business development and marketing plans.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local and regional media outlets; coordinate media escorts, create talking points, and prepare subject matter experts for interviews.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to community groups, telling the UNC Health Appalachian story.
• Serve as a data analyst for the marketing team — monitoring key performance indicators and evaluating the effectiveness of campaigns.
• Approach work with a bias for action, efficiency, and personal accountability, modeling UNC Health Appalachian's Mission, Vision, and Values.
• Foster professional, productive working relationships that promote a healthy work environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field of study. Master's degree preferred.
• Experience: 3+ years of healthcare marketing and communications experience preferred.
• Licensure/Certifications: None required.
• Skills & Abilities: Strong communication skills; ability to work within the chain of command using positive verbal and non-verbal techniques. Proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with local media (newspapers, news channels, etc.). Knowledge of the continuum of care provided within the organization. Exceptional customer service for patients, families, staff, and physicians.

Physical & Work Environment

• Prolonged sitting, standing, and walking, often 8+ hours per day.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 lbs.
• Frequent hand, finger, and wrist repetition; near visual acuity and close eye work; speaking, reading, and writing for extended periods.
• Occasional local and regional travel for media, community, and stakeholder engagements.
• May occasionally work outside standard hours for events or media commitments.
