Registration Associate - St. Peter's Hospital - Full Time - Rotating Shift

Job Overview St. Peter's Health Partners is seeking an individual to assist with clerical duties associated with keeping the department running smoothly. A two-week training period is required Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Holiday and/or weekend rotation is required. Employment Details Employment type: Full‑time. Shift: Rotating shift. Role Description Provides patient focused customer service. Performs outpatient and/or inpatient registration and insurance verification functions; collects patient financial liability payments and ensures that patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre‑certifications, and referrals. Provides general information to hospital users, patients, families, and physician offices. Essential Functions Researches, collects, and analyzes information; identifies opportunities, develops solutions, and leads through resolution. Collaborates on performance improvement activities. Responsible for the distribution of analytical reports. Utilizes multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports, and develop educational materials. Incorporates basic knowledge of Trinity Health policies, practices, and processes to ensure quality, confidentiality, and safety are prioritized. Demonstrates knowledge of departmental processes and procedures and acquires new knowledge rapidly. Researches and compiles information to support ad‑hoc operational projects and initiatives. Synthesizes and analyzes data and provides detailed summaries with graphical presentations, recommending practical options while considering impact on business strategy and leadership decision‑making. Leverages program and operational data to define and demonstrate progress, ROI, and impacts. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program, and code of conduct. Functional Role PAR I entry‑level position. Minimum one (1) year customer service experience. Patient Access experience preferred. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA license required within one (1) year of hire. Additional Qualifications (Nice to Have) Medical terminology knowledge and diagnostic and procedural coding. Experience in insurance verification with the ability to explain benefits and secure necessary authorizations. Pay Range Pay range: $17.25–$22.54 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
