RN - Acute Care Seasonal Nurse

Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse (RN) for a seasonal role spanning December through March. This position offers flexible scheduling options including full-time and part-time day and night shifts, ideal for those seeking consistent work during the holiday season in the Central Plains region.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care under physician guidance, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Mentor and support new staff and nursing students to foster a collaborative learning environment.
• Perform nursing duties within the scope defined by licensing boards and departmental policies.
• Assess patient needs accurately and maintain comprehensive care plans.
• Encourage patient independence by involving patients and families in care discussions, including medical issues, testing, medications, and self-care.
• Administer medications timely and manage medication orders with precision.
• Educate patients and families on physical, emotional, and psychosocial aspects of care, including symptom and pain management.
• Complete thorough and timely documentation in compliance with healthcare policies.
• Observe and report changes in patients' physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual conditions.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations regarding Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Foster effective communication and professional relationships with patients, families, healthcare teams, and external agencies.

Education and Experience

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Previous experience in a similar acute care environment is advantageous.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in a compact state.
• Current BLS/CPR certification from an approved provider within 30 days of hire or by orientation completion.
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIHSS, or AWHONN may be required depending on department policies.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong foundation in nursing principles and patient care.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with basic computer and keyboarding skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements
