Job Opportunity: Emergency Medicine Physician

Location: Coastal Delaware — specifically the Delaware Beaches (Lewes / Sussex County), approximately 83 miles from Philadelphia.

Employment Type: Full-Time, Emergency Medicine (BC/BE)

Work Environment and Responsibilities

• Physicians rotate through all sites, ensuring an equitable distribution of RVUs — no preference for busier locations.
• Dedicated nocturnists take their shifts first; remaining nights, weekends, and holidays are shared fairly among the team.
• Shift lengths are 10 hours at the hospital and 12 hours at the freestanding EDs, with an average of about 14 shifts per month.
• On average, physicians see approximately 1.5 patients per hour.
• Work alongside a seasoned, long-standing PA team.
• Structured onboarding for residents includes 6-9 months of double coverage before transitioning to independent shifts at the freestanding ED.

Our compensation structure is transparent and aligned with physician interests: a guaranteed hourly base, night and holiday differentials, built-in longevity raises, a quarterly productivity bonus, and full partnership economics after 18 months — at which point your earnings per RVU significantly increase. Practice Locations

• Lewes: The hospital emergency department is a designated Level III Trauma Center and Joint Commission-accredited Advanced Primary Stroke Center, featuring 37 beds and handling around 50,000 visits annually. Staffing includes five 10-hour physician shifts and three 12-hour PA shifts daily.
• Millville: Our freestanding ED, which opened in 2020, has 23 beds and sees about 15,000 visits annually in a lower-acuity, high-efficiency setting with 12-hour physician shifts.
• New Campus (Opening 2027): Under construction in Delaware's fastest-growing zip code, this facility will feature 16 emergency exam rooms, two dedicated pediatric rooms staffed by Nemours Children's Health specialists, advanced imaging capabilities, an on-site lab and pharmacy, and a helipad.
