Staff Electrical Engineer, R&D

Our global team is looking for a Staff Electrical Design Engineer who is passionate about pushing the boundaries of what is possible by collaborating across the globe with other world‑class engineers. In this role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team where you will own the electrical hardware design for complex handheld powered devices used in cranial and spinal procedures. Responsibilities Define and maintain system‑level electrical architecture, ensuring alignment across hardware, software, and product interfaces Provide technical direction, mentorship, and design oversight to 1‑2 electrical engineers across the team Identify and proactively mitigate technical risks across the electrical subsystem Independently design and develop various electronic components, including schematic and layout of circuit boards and wire harnesses Develop, review, and execute electrical system test methods using appropriate equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers) Lead creation and refinement of technical design documentation, including drawings, design descriptions, requirements, and stackup calculations Interface with manufacturers to develop manufacturing test specifications Work cooperatively with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success Deliver high‑quality results with passion, energy, and drive to meet business priorities Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in EE or related discipline and 4+ years of work experience Demonstrated schematic design, PCBA layout, and circuit modeling competency Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience owning the electrical development of medical devices or similar regulated products Advanced understanding of the design of complex components and subsystems Ability to apply advanced circuit and electrical system test methods Advanced understanding of manufacturing and testing methods Ability to apply standard technologies used in industry Ability to perform complex electrical stack‑ups Understanding of statistical methods Advanced knowledge of subsystem, system, and environmental interaction Compensation & Benefits Salary: $89,300 - $148,800 USD Annual Health benefits include: Medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, critical illness, accident, hospital indemnity insurance, personalized healthcare support, wellbeing program, and tobacco cessation program.
