Job Summary Works closely with contract pullet producers to raise low‑cost pullets to Bachoco USA standards for the purpose of producing maximum hatching eggs in Bachoco USA breeder houses. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain an open and working relationship with contract producers. Weigh birds according to schedule. Administer vaccines on schedule. Draw blood for state and federal programs. Monitor farm conditions. Monitor bird health. Report farm issues to Pullet Manager as needed. Order feed on a weekly basis. Make feed adjustments weekly based on weights and weight standards. Set up farm for wash down and bedding. Responsible for set‑up of farm before new flock is placed. Other duties may be assigned according to program changes, weather conditions, or service area changes. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises the Pullet contract producers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including appraising performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Certificates, Licences, Registrations Must have a valid driver’s licence and must qualify for the company driving program. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and to taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock.
